The Great Experiment: Part 1

So, these next few posts will be a joint venture between The Shaeman and Denise Hinson. We've been collaborating on a Sekrit Projekt that we will be unveiling over the next few months; however, we would like to give you a little glimpse into what we've been cooking up during this period when we've been more silent than we normally appear.

Lighten Up, Francis

Ah, Stripes. One of the finest films in American cinema. Is there any more endearing jackhole than our beloved Sergeant Hulka? Do you remember that first evening, when all the new recruits were getting to know one another around the barracks and Psycho was just a leeeettle high strung about his name, his personal space and his possessions? And then, in one sweet moment, our pal, Sergeant Hulka, brought Psycho's tower down with the most brilliant, if not succinct, advice ever: Lighten up, Francis.

Art-Making in the Trenches

In my life, I have done a number of things that have been arduous and scary. I'm a parent of three, amazing kids. No matter how wonderful they are, parenting is still difficult and frightening, at times. Not because of them, but because of me. I've gone through a difficult divorce. No matter the situation or terms, divorce is a horrible thing and it initiates us into a club we never really wanted to join. A club whose members are the only ones who understand the cost of entry.
