Life is generally lived with a set of illusions we negotiate with the world around us. You know the kind. You're only as old as you feel. We're invincible. "We" are different from "them." We can achieve some sense of stasis where things might forever reside in a place of peace and joy, with pain and discomfort banished safely outside. All very noble illusions indeed, these ideas are safe havens against an otherwise unforgiving reality, it seems. Cognitively, we all know we're really not invincible.

Detachment, Attachment & Timing

I am sure any number of people could read what I’m about to write and think I’m writing about them…when in reality, I probably am. (See what I did there?) No, seriously, this is one of those daily occurrences in my life that everyone experiences…so as I’m writing about my experience, I am sure it may look a lot like your experience and echo your circumstances in some way. So, in reality, while I’m writing about my life, it may look like your life..and really…since we’re all connected anyway…what’s the difference, right?
